Remember Bloodshot? The comic character who was a mob informer called Angelo Mortalli, who was almost killed, who was brought back to life thanks to the application of advanced nano-technology? Who then became a powerful hero who could control electrical devices and sought to wage war on the mob, police and corrupt government officials? And who came to believe the nanobots were actually the voice of God, helping he re-discover who he was and guiding him on his path (no, not like midi-chlorians – ed). He was a Valiant comic character? No? Sure?
Well, truth be told neither do I. So, it’s ok. Well, basically, Sony has picked up the rights to make the movie adaptation of the character based on a script treatment written by Jeff Wadlow (Cry Wolf, Never Back Down). Matthew Vaughn was attached to the adaptation a few years back, but he’s not attached any longer as he knee dee in X-Men and Kick-Ass 2 (possibly).
The story has a real potential to be a hard-core, no holes-barred chaos-fuelled blodbath like Spawn. No, wait like Punisher… em…
We like the idea behind it and will probably try to track down some issues now, but not the much-fabled platinum edition of Bloodshot #0, of which it is rumored that fewer than 25 copies exist and therefore would probably cost a lot. Or maybe not. We’re not sure any more…
