Vin Diesel to play famous 70s TV cop

December 18th, 2012 by bash Comments

What does Vin Diesel and Telly Savalas have in common? Bar the bald head, not much.

But that is all about to change after Deadline reported that Universal are working on film adaptation of the hit ’70s crime show Kojak.

Diesel will play the lead most famously portrayed by Savalas, with a script by Skyfall duo Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.

The original show ran on CBS from 1973 to 1978 and starred Savalas as NYPD Detective Lieutenant Theo Kojak, known for his love of lollipops and catchphrase, “Who loves ya baby?”.

Kojak was last played on-screen by Ving Rhames in the 2005 series reboot.

Hi all. I'm Bash and love anything and everything to do with Star Wars. Although I've watched hundreds of movies, read dozens of books and played numerous computer games from other genres and franchises since, nothing has come close to seeing George Lucas' epic for the very first time. I hope you all like the site and come back often.
