WATCH: The first official trailer for Paranoia!

June 6th, 2013 by Edwin Torres Jr Comments

Relativity Media has released the first trailer for the new thriller Paranoia. It does a good job at setting up the premise of the film, maybe too good of a job. As is the current trend, this trailer gives an awful lot of the plot away.  Liam Hemsworth stars as a blue-collar pawn caught in a game of espionage between two Titans of industry, played by Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman.  The plot thickens when the law gets involved, forcing him to play by his own set of rules to survive the game.

I think this might be one of those cases of studios trying to forcibly mold Hemsworth into a star. ( Cue the Star Wars rumors) That being said this might be worth it if only to watch Ford and Oldman battle it out!

“The high stakes thriller Paranoia takes us deep behind the scenes of global success to a deadly world of greed and deception.  The two most powerful tech billionaires in the world (Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman) are bitter rivals with a complicated past who will stop at nothing to destroy each other.  A young superstar (Liam Hemsworth), seduced by unlimited wealth and power falls between them, and becomes trapped in the middle of the twists and turns of their life-and-death game of corporate espionage.  By the time he realizes his life is in danger, he is in far too deep and knows far too much for them to let him walk away.”

Written by Barry Levy and Jason Dean Hall, the movie stars Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford, Lucas Till, Amber Heard, Embeth Davidtz, Julian McMahon, Richard Dreyfuss and Josh Holloway.

The movie comes out on August 16th, 2013!
