WATCH: The Raid director Gareth Evans lists and breaks down his 5 favorite action scenes

April 23rd, 2014 by Irwin Fletcher Comments

It’s pretty much the consensus that Gareth Evans, the director of The Raid and The Raid 2, is the greatest action director around right now.

Ok, well at least to me.

During a recent interview with /Film’s David Chen, the director listed his favorite five action scenes ever and he actually breaks them down. These are obviously scenes that have inspired him over the years to do what he does.

The video below features clips from this list:

Wheels on Meals (1984) – Jackie Chan vs. Benny “The Jet” Urquidez

Armor of God (1986) – Jackie Chan vs. The Monks

The Live (1988) – Rowdy Roddy Pipewr vs. Keith David

Police Story 1 (1985) – Jackie Chan vs. Everybody

Fist of Legend (1994) – Jet Li vs. Yasuaki Kurata

Jackie Chan is in 3 of the 5, I love that! What’s your list?
