It was revealed at E3 and it’s already here, The Walking Dead 400 Days DLC. An add on to the original game and one that shouldn’t be scoffed at.
Even if you bought the Season 1 Season pass you will still have to pay for the privilege of playing this DLC and let me tell you it is a privilege.
First off you need to have The Walking Dead installed on your system or have the retail disc in order to play this DLC. It bridges the gap between season 1 and season 2 and let me tell you it is really good.
There is very little to do with Season 1 in this DLC except for one Easter egg. It features 5 new characters that each has their own 15-25min story.
The graphics are the same, the controls no different and the decision making just as hard.
I was enthralled from the moment I clicked on the first story until the ending conclusion.
I’m not going to say anything about the characters just that my favourite story was Russell’s as I got to be real nasty to a man who clearly deserved it.
The decisions made are so hard, this game really tugs at your emotional core and pushes you to the edge, you have to decide what kind of person you are going to be and considering the decisions made here will follow onto season 2 be careful what you say, and how you say it.
The stories are all different, dealing with different situations all around this one diner in America’s south west.
Some stories involve the diner directly whilst others the surrounding area, some characters may make it onto others stories and you will probably only notice this after a second play through, which is probably wise.
There is a great ending that will leave you wanting more and we all know that Telltale games have their hands on a golden goose here, let’s just hope the quality keeps coming.
I give the DLC a 9/10
it’s a great experience and something any fan of the Walking Dead would love. If you have let to play Telltale’s The Walking Dead pick them all up together.
The game is available on Steam now and will be on Xbox 360 and PS3 in the next week.
