Wossy Joining Microsoft… Eh?

October 29th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher 1 Comment

That’s right Britain’s own TV wiseguy has been taken on board as an Executive producer with Microsoft.

Ross will “consult with a number of Microsoft Studios including Lift London, Rare, Lionhead and Soho Productions bringing his unparalleled understanding for audience trends to the studios’ development of IP across multiple distribution channels including TV, music and movies”, Microsoft said.

We all know Ross is interested in gaming and has consulted on games before but this seems like a very odd choice considering the imminent release of the Xbox One.

Industry publication MCV said that the role will revolve around breaking down the barriers between “traditional” games and other types of entertainment. Whatever that means, so what is he going to be at the start of every Microsoft game like Kevin Bacon in those EE adverts telling us how awesome Microsoft are?

A better man for the job would have been Ireland’s own Dara O’Briain, an avid gamer and great comedian.
We will just have to wait to see what this role entails and how active Mr Ross will be.

What do you think?

Strangest news of the day?
