Deadline is reporting that Matthew Vaughn will be returning for a second X-Men movie.
According to the website, Fox have closed a deal to bring the English director back for the unnamed sequel to the 2011 hit . The new movie will be from a script by Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand, Jumper, Sherlock Holmes) and with Bryan Singer once again producing.
With all the major cast having signed multiple picture deals before the release of X-Men: First Class we can expect to see the return of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender (above) as Professor X and Magneto, respectively, however no word on any new characters.
The film grossed $146,408,305 in the United States and $353,624,124 worldwide following its release last year.
