Paramount apparently have shown two versions of the new movie Hansel and Gretel to test audiences, an adult version and a more kid friendly take on it.
Starring Avenger’s Hawkeye actor, Jeremy Renner and FTN favourite hot lady Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia) as the titular characters who have been traumatised after their near death encounter at the hands of a witch in the gingerbread house. The brother and sister team have grown up to become witch hunting bounty hunters.
It seems the question is the rating for the movie whether to go Pg or R but either way, all the reports are good about this one which will be released January 11th 2013
UPDATED
Collider is now reporting that the movie will definately be R-rated (probably 18 in the UK).
Reports are that the R-rated version is much more graphic and explicit in its humor and a much more interesting version than the PG-13 take.
Collider reports that Paramount is “100% planning on releasing Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters as an R-rated film”.
Curious, huh? We’d love to see both cuts now… but we’ll probably never get the chance.
