Not much is known about Supreme Leader Snoke, the motion-capture character Andy Serkis (War for the Planet of the Apes) portrays in The Force Awakens, and a popular Star Wars fan theory believes the reason for Snoke’s absence from the film’s marketing campaign is because he’s actually Jar Jar Binks.

Although we did get a look at some leaked concept art recently (here).

Now, as ridiculous as this sounds, Serkis was asked straight up by Conan O’Brien and his response was typically brilliant: “It’s true,” Serkis admitted. “I don’t want to spoil it for anybody…” He then busts out his best Jar Jar impression while reciting his line from the first teaser: “There’s been an awakening. Have you felt it?”

It’s good to see actors having a sense of humour when asked about such ridiculous fan theories. Well, we hope it’s ridiculous anyway. If Jar Jar turns up in The Force Awakens, we won’t be best pleased. Probably.
