Aykroyd: Ghostbusters 3 Moving Ahead Without Bill Murray

August 3rd, 2012 by Christopher Williams Comments

In an interview with UK’s Metro Dan Aykroyd talked a bit about where Ghostbusters 3 stands. He stated that there is a new writer in place with a new concept, a younger generation of Ghostbusters.

Aykroyd lamented on the fact that Murray was unwilling to participate in the movie, hence the concept of a new group of Ghostbusters taking the reins. “It’s sad but we’re passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn’t seem to be coming and we have to move on. It’s time to make the third one.”, Aykroyd told the Metro.

With a new team in place and the studio on board Aykroyd sounded confident that Ghostbusters 3 would go into production next year.
