Skyfall, the latest James Bond movie, has not only enjoyed critical acclaim but it’s also gone and broken a couple of records to boot.
The film opened to the mighty tune of $32.4m (£20.1m) at the UK box office this weekend, making it the second highest opening of any film in the UK, just behind Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows.
It wasn’t just down to takings where it broke records as the film also saw the highest attendence of any film on a Saturday in the UK, thus making this the most successful bond film of all time.
In other Bond news, Skyfall screenwriter Jon Logan will be back to pen the next two films in the series and that it will be a two-parter that will not be based on any of Fleming stories.
