Seriously… can you imagine anyone playing JJ Jameson better than the legendary JK Simmons?
Someone asked me recently whether the editor of the Daily Bugle, all round ranter J. Jonah Jameson was in The Amazing Spiderman movie.
They seemed surprised when I told them no. But I believe, rightly so, as it was focused on Spiderman’s early years allowing the character to breathe and expand without the scene stealing antics of the editor in chief.
Actor J.K. Simmons has made it known he would like to return to the role he made his own in the original trilogy, but he wouldn’t have worked in the new reboot given captain Stacy more than fulfilled that role albeit in a more menacing way in his hunt for the vigilante that was Spiderman.
But now Peter Parker has made his mark, it’s time to move forward and make him the cub photographer he was always meant to be.
With the Bugle’s resources, he may finally find out what really happened his parents and Spidey needs someone to be the bane of his existence given the climax of the last movie.
Is it time for Jonah to come back or can we do without him one more time? Let us know what you think?
