Images have appeared from a fouth live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie that never happened and there’s even a new addition to the team…
Kevin Eastman, co-creater of TMNT with Peter Laird, created an unused character called Kirby for the movie and you’ve already seen him (above). He also worked on an evil April O’Neill and a electric-fisted Casey Jones (click the link below).
The movie was set to be called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation and it was conceived between 1995 and 1997 but ultimately never happened. The art also features Fang, Shredder, Spyder, Nano Spyder, Super Shredder, Casey, Talbot, Lawson, Bugman, and Evil April.
In May, Kevin Eastman put the concept art up for auction, saying: “The fourth live-action TMNT film was pitched and originally scripted as a grittier, less kid-friendly adventure, and to that end Kevin Eastman designed a more brutish, hardcore fifth Turtle, named for the legendary King of Comics (Jack Kirby).”
Oh and we know there was briefly a female turtle in a series called, curiously, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation. She was called Venus and was one of the original turtles, but Splinter didn’t realise she existed. She wasn’t very good, so most people have forgotten her. We think.
