Ghostbusters Day 2023 Round-up! New logo! New comic art! Look at new movie’s Ecto-1 and Firehouse! It’s all here

Well, firstly, I apologise for the delay in getting to the Ghostbusters Day stuff so late but during the actual day I was in bed suffering from the dreaded mna flu… but I survived, so, without further ado, let’s see what we got.

To be honest, in comparison, compared to last year, we got very little; I had been hoping for a look at the new movie – still filming in New York as I type – which cis due to hit screens this Christmas, but alas, it wasn’t to be; nor did we get a look at the upcoming animated movie.

So what did we get? Well, first off, we had this fun video of the cast of Ghostbusters IV wishing all the fans a happy Ghostbusters Day and yes, that is the new Firehouse set and we did spot the thermal mug from Ghostbusters II behind Dan Aykroyd!

We also got our first official look at the new Ecto-1 in the video which has a new armadillo-shaped piece of equipment on the roof as well as the red line that continues from the fins on the back, right down to the front of the car… it’s a small change but it’s nice:

Next up, we got our first look at the upcoming Ghostbusters comic from Dark Horse Comics, who have taken the license over from IDW, which features our first look at the cast as their comic counterparts. The new run will be a limited series and will release before the end of 2023 and will be penned by Ghostbusters: Afterlife and Ghostbusters IV writers Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan:

Next up, we got Pheobe Spengler herself, Mckenna Grace, sharing a musical look at the Firehouse set – built in the UK – and, again, we get a peek at the Ecto’s new paint work. The set looks gorgeous… kinda feels like coming home.

The biggest, and final reveal of the day as the official Ghostbusters social pages put out the logo for the new movie and it looks like it’s been frozen over… so what is this telling us about the movie? Well, I don’t know and no-one does, however, given that the movie has been rumoured to be called Hell’s Kitchen, the first think that comes to mind seeing this is the phrase ‘when hell freezes over’; is this new logo confirming the new movie has something to do with the team going to hell? A frozen hell, similar to one of Dante’s visions of hell in The Devine Comedy where the damned were frozen in damnation? Or, it might mean the movie takes place in a blizzard… who knows? But I can’t wait to find out.

Check out the new logo:
