Harry Potter star set for Joe Hill’s Horns movie

July 14th, 2012 by Marc Comments

If ever a son deserved to pick up his father’s mantle, it’s Joe Hill. His work so far has been fantastic, he’s the best thing to happen to horror since, well, Stephen King.

While we loved Heart-shaped Box and are biting at the bit to get to the end of Locke & Key, our favourite book so far is Horns.
It sounds preposterous – a young man, Ignatius Perrish, wakes one morning with a set of horns – that only he can see – growing from his head. One top of that, they allow him a supernatural ability to influence people, which he uses to solve a mystery that has haunted his life; to say more would ruin it and you deserve to read this – but is a clever, dark horror story.
Well, the news at the minute is that Daniel ‘Harry Potter’ Radcliffe is set to play the lead. And even better, it’ll be directed by Alexandre Aja, director of High Tension and Mirrors.
We’ll be watching this with great interest, we’ve seen some of our favourite works from Stephen King destroyed over the years by Hollywood, let’s hope the same doesn’t happen to his son

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
