So while it was exciting to think of Christopher Nolan doing a Bond movie as rumoured last week – although, some might argue he did that already in the last third of Inception – it looks like the rumour mill has went right back to Sam Mendes.
While Beaks over at aintitcool pointed out that several directors were in the mix – Nicolas Winding Refn, Ang Lee, Shane Black and David Yates (I love the idea of Lee or Black doing Bond) – it seems that the Broccolis were waiting for Mendes to clear his schedule.
Deadline are reporting that they will hold off until Mendes finishes his musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and King Lear and then they will hand him the 007 reigns again. Well, in fairness, he did make the highest grossing Bond of all time.
I’m happy to hear this, I think they could have been bolder, but that said if Mendes can continue Skyfall then I can’t wait to see what’s coming next… What do you guys say?
