Hobbit release gets its very own 3D glasses. No, really.

Finally a cash-in that even George Lucas would be loathe to do. Probably.

On 14th December cinemas all over the land will be breathing a sigh of relief as the Hobbit – An Unexpected Journey’s 3D release will have their very own specially designed glasses as seen in the pic above.

Available to buy before the movie, no one has announced a price but these are quite a good idea and will probably will one of the fastest growing collectibles.
However, as a man that has to wear glasses, I pray there is a 2D version as these 3D things are so uncomfortable to wear especially when Jackson’s movies are always about three hours long.

When will someone design a pair that fits over a person’s existing eye wear? Anyone? 25% goes to me if you do for coming up with the idea.
