Ever since SDCC we’ve been biting at the bit to see the footage ourselves, well it now seems we don’t have long to wait…
It’s been confirmed that Marvel Studios will put the Iron Man 3 teaser online at 8.01am GMT on October 24 – or 12.01am PST on October 23. Woo hoo!
Staying with Iron Man 3, that movie’s screenwriter, Drew Pearce - who also penned the upcoming Sherlock Holmes 3 – is the man to rewrite the Godzilla reboot.
The script was written previously by, among others, David Callahan who wrote The Expendables and David Goyer who penned The Dark Knight. Sources at Legendary Pictures claim the script is fine, but there are certain actors in the frame and the script needs to be rewritten to suit their slightly higher ages.
British director Gareth Edwards, the man behind Monsters, is set to direct the new take of the classic monster and he is saying he plans of approaching it from a whole new perspective. Total Film spoke with Edwards about the potential franchiser starter: ”My main idea was to imagine ‘If this really happened, what would it be like?’ I want to take a grounded, realistic approach to a Godzilla film.”
He adds that “I’ve never worked this hard, this long and been this emotionally involved in something that’s lasted only a few seconds since the time I lost my virginity! But the reaction has been amazing and I can’t wait for the fans to see our final product.”
So, Iron Man 3 trailer only a couple of weeks away and a new perspective on the Godzilla reboot. Job done.
