Again, it’s a slow news day, so don’t get too excited about this… yet
Bourne Legacy director/co-writer Tony Gilroy, producer Frank Marshall and star Jeremy Renner have been chatting to Empire about the upcoming fourth installment of the Bourne saga, em without Bourne, and they talked a little about the mythology of the movies.
Gilroy said: ”If you think of the first three Bourne films as Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, then we’re showing you Elsinore. You thought you were seeing something you weren’t. What if there’s a much larger story? What if Treadstone wasn’t the only black-ops programme?”
Renner describes his character as: “coming from a completely different background to Jason (Bourne). He knows exactly who he is; he signed up to this… He’s a person who wants to be part of something… to have a sense of purpose. But then it’s taken away.”
However, the internet is going a bit batty over Marshall’s comment: “All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up.”
Now, we think this is possibly just a flippant statement, but then again are there such things in Hollywood? Has Damon decided he likes what he sees and wants back? Hard to say, just file it under ‘wait and see’…
