Is MIB director Barry Sonnenfeld set to prove his Metal with DC’s Metal Men?

June 25th, 2012 by Marc Comments

With the latest Men In Black proving a reasonable success, the rumour mill is starting up regarding what’s next for director Barry Sonnenfeld…

Could the Metal Men, a fairly obscure DC comic, be the next project he’s looking at? After all, Men In Black was also an little heard of comic book before he got his hands on it.
The Metal men (and one girl) are, we’re sorry, some of the more unlikely superheroes out there – intelligent robots with the ability to ‘morph’, each is made out of – and named after – a different metal, Gold, Iron, Mercury, Lead, Platinum and Tin.
They have enjoyed brief moments of celebrity in titles like Batman, Justice League and more recently in an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold ever since their creation in 1962.
However, despite Sonnenfeld’s form, we don’t think this is likely… but we’ve been wrong once (or twice – ed) before.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
