It’s time to analyse what’s happening with this week’s UK Top Ten Box Office movies

August 16th, 2012 by Stuart Miller Comments

Not a very interesting week with the top ten as nothing could shake Ted from the top spot, in fact it has now broken records as the highest grossing non-sequel comedy over the space of a 10 day period.

Two new films graced this week’s chart, first off going in at number ten is violent thriller/drama Offender, however it was the all dancing Step Up 4: Miami Heat which was the highest new entry going in at number 3, sadly (? – ed) that’s where the good news stops for the film as it has taken nearly £2 million less than the 3rd film in the series on it’s debut weekend.

10. Offender – (NE) – £74.154
9. Magic Mike – £135.108 – £8.111.970
8. Amazing Spider-man – £199.304 – £25.548.555
7. Dr Seuss’ The Lorax – £375.710 – £5.962.519
6. Ice Age 4: Continental Drift – £532.353 – £26.507.381
5. Brave – £574.261 – £2.222.395
4. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days – £602.236 – £3.702.877
3. Step up 4: Miami Heat – (NE) – £680.052
2. The Dark Knight Rises – £2.196.449 – £46.259.177
1. Ted – £3.174.766 – £17.214.269

New Releases – four new films will want to crack their way into the top ten next week; first off is romantic drama/comedy Take this Waltz, your next choice is romantic comedy The Wedding Video, the next film to choose from is the insane over the top action film with a cast that would make any action fan wet himself with The Expendables 2, your final choice this week and the movie that should go straight into the number one spot is The Bourne Legacy.
