Jesse Eisenberg Talks Batman v Superman Script

September 1st, 2014 by Todd Black Comments

Every day or so we seem to get more and more tidbits about the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Today, we got a very interesting quote from Jesse Eisenberg, who will play Lex Luthor in the film. Eisenberg has admitted he hadn’t watched any superhero movies, nor read comics, before he was approached about the role of Lex Luthor. Once he did though, he jumped right in.

“They asked me if I would play the part before they sent me the script,” he admitted.

“I’m not sure how it worked, but it’s something I read with the understanding that I could do the role, if I…you know, they don’t just hand the scripts out. But I really liked it on its own terms. I would do it if it was for free and it was tiny.”

Interesting huh? Now whether you believe he should or shouldn’t be well versed in the comics continuity of some characters, you have to respect a guy who loves a script with no pre-conceived notions of what the character should be like. The wheels are slowly turning my friends, let’s see where they lead.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters March 25, 2016.
