Kevin Smith Pitches Idea For Jaws Reboot

October 6th, 2014 by Todd Black 2 Comments

Ok, Kevin Smith is the definition of nerd hero. He makes funny movies (and some epic ones), he owns his own comic shop (and has a TV show about it), and he loves talking about all things nerd. But sometimes he goes outside the box in his nerdisms. Like when asked about a Jaws reboot.

The director talked about how he would literally hang up his directors cap if Steven Spielberg would come back to direct another Jaws movie. But he didn’t stop there, he gave his pitch for the movie:

“You set it in the present, and you use a hurricane, and you flood the town. Then  the shark is in the town. Not just in the water. Because, again, on the land  you’re fine. But all that imagery from Hurricane Sandy, of houses underwater —  add a great white shark. There’s your Jaws. Modern-day Jaws. Because then you  gotta be on a rooftop. A shark could come into your house, dude.”

That honestly sounds terrifying! But what do you think? Do YOU think we should get a “Modern-day Jaws”? Let us know!
