We all know the novel The Shining is getting the sequel Dr Sleep next year, but now it seems the classic Stanley Kubrick movie is set for a prequel! Wait, what?!

Think Shining and of course we all remember the Jack Nicholson 1980 movie with him popping his head round the door like a demented Rottweiler and smiling: ‘”Here’s Johnny!” Tormented by the ghosts trapped in the hotel the movie based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, Johnny is slowly possessed by the hotel which sends him to murder his own family.

But ever wondered about the backstory of the ghosts? Well you may be about to get your wish.
Talks of a Shining prequel are in the works from the team of Laeta Kalogridis, Bradley Fischer and James Vanderbilt to produce a new movie.

There’s always a story within a story, so why not? As long as it’s scary bring it on.
