LISTEN: So, Whedon confirms a character who WON’T be back for Avengers 2…

June 18th, 2013 by Marc Comments

While all the attention has been on what characters WILL be in Avengers 2, Joss Whedon has been talking to Empire about Much Ado About Nothing and has confirmed that not everyone will be back…

Yes, tease over,  Loki is gone. Now, does this add flames to the rumour that he will (seemingly) perish in the next Avengers Phase II movie Thor: Dark World? We’re not sure, but if the maker says he’s gone, we must assume he is, indeed, gone…

You can listen to the full Empire interview below, but on this matter he says: “Everyone is going to be looking for the Loki-Hulk smash moment and you’ll be looking for [a quim moment]. First of all, imitating what I did before is the surest way to do it not as well. Second of all, Loki’s not there to say those terrible things. Although I do think we should bring the word back, not as an insult, it’s just a nice word.”

So no Loki, huh? Does this mean Thanos will be stepping up? Or perhaps an as-yet unknown villain… our breath is abaited, Mr Whedon.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
