Lost’s Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje set for villain role in Thor: The Dark World?

August 25th, 2012 by Marc 1 Comment

We know many people – yes, including us – have issues with Lost, but when it was good, it was fantastic. And now one of our favourote characters from it, Mr Eko, is set for Thors 2… well, the actor is.

Variety are reporting that  Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has signed on to the sequel as one of the villains alongside Christopher Eccleton as Malekith the Accursed and, if the rumour is true, he will play the roles of Algrim the Strong and Kurse, wait, what?

Variety eplains: In the comicbooks, Algrim the Strong was the most powerful of a race of Dark Elves, who is coerced by Malekith to fight Thor. After he’s betrayed by Malekith and injured during a battle, Algrim is healed and transformed into a much more powerful being called Kurse, who is twice as a strong as Thor.

Frankly, the idea of these two together alongside Tom Hiddleston as Loki versus Thor has us feeling a little giddy. We aren’t sure if we’re lucky comic fans or lucky movie fans. Wait, can we be both?

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
