Mortal Kombat reboot is coming, say Warners

November 7th, 2012 by Stuart Miller Comments

Mortal Kombat coming back to finish you.

Reboots are more than plenty these days, so it comes as no shock whatsoever to learn that Warner Bros are planning a reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise with a film already in development.

Executive for Warner, Lance Sioan, confirmed the news of the reboot and also mentioned tnot only how much the film will cost but who will also be behind the project.

“We’re preparing right now for the film with Kevin Tancharoen, [who] directed the digital series for us, (see the awesome NSFW trailer below)” said Sloan. “He’s at the helm of the forty, fifty million dollar film.”

Details on the movie however haven’t been released yet, but rumors on the film suggest it will follow a supermarket employee who finds out he has bizarre, otherworldly powers that will lead him to an important choice between the worlds of good and evil.

Let’s hope that the film turns out a little like the first one and not the car crash mess that was the sequel…
