PICTURE ROUNDUP: Pacific Rim gets new posters, Jack The Giant Killer Poster hits, and Lego Turtles poster surfaces

December 13th, 2012 by Marc Comments

It’s our semi-regular picture round up and today we have some very tasty stuff…

First up, Jack The Giant Killer gets an official poster release… Bryan Singer’s take on the famous fairytale should certainly be worth a peek if the trailer is anything to go by [watch here]

UK Release date: 22 March 2013
Director: Bryan Singer
Cast: Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy, Ian McShane, Warwick Davis, Eleanor Tomlinson, Ewen Bremner
Synopsis: An ancient war is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack (Nicholas Hoult), into the battle of his life to stop them. Fighting for a kingdom and its people, and the love of a brave princess, he comes face to face with the unstoppable warriors he thought only existed in legend… and gets the chance to become a legend himself.

Next up, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pacific Rim is all over our page recently – the trailer has just hit [watch here] – and the new posters look fantastic. As a child of the 80s who grew up on a steady diet of Robot Jox, Manga, Godzilla and Transformers, this has me all giddy…

And finally, one of my favourite cartoons right now is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the idea of TMNT and Lego just works on every level for us here at FTN. Here’s a glimpse at the poster we’ll be seeing in toyshops in the new year…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
