RUMOUR MILL: Will Star Wars Episode VII be about Jaina and Jacen Solo?

June 11th, 2013 by Marc Comments

Well it seems all good rumours come back to where they began, huh? As Star Wars EpVII draws ever closer it looks like the earliest rumours about plot and characters is on its way back…

Collider is reporting that the new Star Wars movie may revolve around the children of Han and Leia, Jaina and Jacen

They report that Schmoes Know  have seen the following casting notice:

Storyline: Two 17 year old twins, a girl and a boy, are trained by their uncle Luke to be the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy. Problems arise when the male twin turns to the dark side.

Jaina Solo – Female, 17 years old, lead. – Jacen’s twin sister, one of the greatest Jedi’s in the galaxy, trained by her uncle Luke Skywalker

Jacen Solo – Male, 17 years old, lead – Jaina’s twin brother, one of the greatest Jedi’s in the world. A loner who is constantly struggling with the idea of what’s right and what’s wrong. Starts to turn to the dark side. Full of conviction that what he is doing is the “right thing”. Will eventually become Darth Caedus.

Now, we’re taking this with a bucketful of salt BUT it would make sense these two will be in the new movies. They would be a continuation of the Skywalker story and they are already well established in the SW universe. It is supported by some of the early rumours we heard that there was going to be two young leads, one male, one female and they would probably be called Solo. It might also explain why Chloe Moretz’s name was attached to the project right at the start when the news of Disney’s involvement broke.

It would also be a good plot point that SPOILER in the books Jacen eventually turns to the darkside and becomes Darth Cadeus, so there you have your villain already built in… that said, surely the fans deserve a story they don’t already know the outcome of? SPOILER ENDS

Take this lightly for now but we certainly haven’t written it off. It makes too much sense.
