Another day, another wealth of Star Wars rumours…
According to the guys at Latino Review one of the real stars of the original Star Wars trilogy has already been spotted on the set of Star Wars Episode VII… The Millennium Falcon.
Yes, the rumour is the set of the interior of the Falcon has been constructed at Pinewood along with the Mos Eisley Cantina. Only a reliable source has been quoted, so pinch of salt on this one guys. It may just be fan boy baiting.
Also, we held off on this last night as it seemed to be causing a bit of a kerfuffle online. The website Nuke The Fridge, claiming it was from Moviegoss.com and Movieweb.com, were reporting that the first two Star Wars: Origins movies would be focused on Han Solo and Boba Fett. More fan baiting? Sounds like it, but while this is so far only rumoured, it’s been around for a while and would make sense given Disney’s plans so far.
So what else is being rumoured? Well, while many of us can’t see anyone else playing Han, it seems there may be an alternative: “No word yet on who will play the young Han Solo or the young Boba Fett but rumors from different sites are saying that Disney is thinking about using Harrison Ford & a frame device, much like one that was used in Lord of the Rings. This just sounds like it’s highly doubtful but it would be pretty awesome to see Harrison Ford play a young Han Solo (somehow) than it would be to have someone else play Han. I mean who can do a better job at being Han Solo than the original actor? With Boba Fett, the casting won’t be as scrutinized as with a young Han Solo, the character wears a helmet most of the time. So, there is an even bigger range of actors that could play the part.”
The movies are being written by Lawrence Kasdan (co-writer of Episode V & VI) & Simon Kinberg (X-Men: The Last Stand & X-Men: Days of Future Past).
And as for where they lie in the timeline? Well, apparently “The Han Solo film is said to take place between, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith & Episode IV: A New Hope. The Boba Fett film will take place between, Episode IV & Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, following the bounty hunter on one of his most dangerous missions.”
So is this true or rumour? Well, to be honest, it’s simply stating what we want/expect but still, it’s fun to speculate, isn’t it?
