Ryan Reynolds says Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will be ‘something completely new’ in Deadpool 3

While I, like most other fans, are feeling slightly jaded with the state of the MCU at the minute, I cannot say I’m not stoked about the upcoming Deadpool 3.

Obviously, I am looking forward to seeing Morena Baccarin and other cast members’ return but the big thing I’m most excited for is seeing Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, finally meet Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and even coming into the MCU and we have another small detail about what we can expect from Wolverine this time out and the answer is… something new and different.

It has previously been established that this movie will take place before the events of Logan and no matter what happens, the events of that movie will remain canon to the character and X-Men universe; this means that Deadpool and Logan/Wolverine will most likely have an adventure outside of their own timeline and universe.

Deadpool almost had a whole world in Multiverse of Madness! Plus loads of news on Deadpool 3

“He and I are both really excited,” Reynolds said of the movie, “We’ve wanted to do this for a decade. So, to have this opportunity now is, I think weirdly, the perfect time.”

This is true and something fans know – Reynolds has wanted for a long time to have Deadpool and Wolverine to meet but what’s the plan?

“I think he was excited. And what we pitched him was enough of a divergence from the character that he knows and the character that he’s left behind, that it gives him something completely new to play and something that he’s really excited to do.”

It sounds like Deadpool 3 will act as as side adventure for Wolverine, at the end of which, he’ll be back in his prime reality, set to live out the events of Logan while Deadpool will find himself stuck in the MCU. Clever.

Thoughts?
