Sinister director to tackle Deus Ex movie

November 17th, 2012 by Stuart Miller Comments

It looks like the Deus Ex-Machina movie is coming, and a director is already in the frame…

Scott Derrickson – the director of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, the remake of the Day the Earth Stood Still and recent horror film Sinster – is set to direct a big screen version of the latest Deus Ex game, Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

In a statement to deadline Derrickson said: “Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence,” he went on to say, “By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. [And] I can’t wait to bring it to the big screen.”

The film will centre around main character Adam Jensen as he blows open a conspiracy in a world that has gone to hell thanks to mechanical augmentations that people seem to be addicted to.
