We aren’t afraid to admit that we have been a little pre-occupied with this summer’s blockbusters that we haven’t really focussed on what The Wolverine may offer in 2013. With Director James Mangold (Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, Knight and Day) already working on pre-production, and Hugh Jackman reprising his role, there have been few other details recently. That however has now changed with the confirmation of a number of Japanese actors signing up for the picture. Hiroyuki Sanada (Rush Hour 3, The Last Samurai), Hal Yamanouchi (“The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou) and virtual unknowns Tao Okamoto and Rila Fukushima have reportedly “signed on the dotted line.”
The plot will apparently focus on Logan/Wolverine’s amnesia and have him returning to Japan where he will try to contact the Japanese criminal underworld, find love and tragedy, oh and go up against Silver Samarai.
It all sounds excitng, but with a year before release, further details may be relased at Comic Con or in a few months time.
