UK top ten box office countdown (16 October, 2012)

October 17th, 2012 by Stuart Miller Comments

Well it looks like Liam Neeson has scared off the competition for a second week as Taken 2 has managed to hold on to the top spot as none of the new entries proved much of a challenge.=

Only three new films managed to find a home in this week’s top ten, first off going in a lower than expected number seven was On the Road despite the idea of a movie version of the novel being there since 1957, doing slightly better than On the Road was Ruby Sparks that went in one place higher at number six, however the takings for the film are showing that the movie has well under preformed. This week’s highest new entry went to Hotel Transylvania by giving little kids a scare and taking just under £2 million to hit the number two spot.

10. Untouchable – £144.432 – £1.301.345
9. The Campaign – £170.286 – £2.108.212
8. Paranorman – £212.810 – £5.617.162
7. On The Road – (NE) – £218.738
6. Ruby Sparks – (NE) – £299.382
5. The Perks of Being a Wallflower – £397.869 – £1.546.290
4. Looper – £1.175.220 – £7.566.485
3. Sinister – £1.259.405 – £3.698.363
2. Hotel Transylvania – (NE) – £1.734.231
1. Taken 2 – £3.743.046 – £14.495.284

New Releases – Only two new films will be trying to get into next week’s chart, however these are not little films in any shape or form. First off is the third in the Madagascar series with Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Your only other choice this week is another sequel in the shape of Paranormal Activity 4.
