UK top ten box office countdown (WE 25 October, 2012)

October 31st, 2012 by Stuart Miller Comments

As predicted last week, Madagascar 3 could only hold on to the top spot for one week as this week’s only new entry has not just knocked it off the top spot but it has blown it away.

Only on new film entered this week’s chart and it went straight into the number one spot (no surprise there) and that film is Skyfall.

Not only though has Skyfall taken the top spot, it has managed to break a few records, first off it’s the highest grossing debut movie of this year, beating Avengers Assemble. Secondly, it was the highest attended film on a Saturday and finally it’s the second highest grossing debut film of all time just behind the last Harry Potter film.

10. Ice Age: Continental Drift – £102.952
9. Beast of the Southern Wild – £117.972
8. Looper – £221.768

New Releases – This week you have a couple of re-releases, a few horror films and one unusual comedy. First off, the TWO re-releases, if you haven’t seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show or The Shining on the big screen now is your chance, however you have a limited time to do so. The new horror films of choice are insane horror film Excision and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. Your final choice of the week is sex comedy For a Good Time Call.
