We showed you the new teaser poster yesterday (see above), well here’s the first teaser trailer for the remake of the classic Stephen King/Brian DePalma Carrie…
Once again, the footage debuted at NYCC but now there’s a hi-res version and we must say, it looks pretty on the money.
Kimberly Peirce’s (Boys Don’t Cry, Stop-Loss) take on the material stars Chloë Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore but, despite the cast, it’s another hard sell. The original DePalma movie was spot on, so we’re still wondering if we need this… but we’ll definitely be there first night none-the-less.
Carrie opens on March 15 2013
Here’s the official synopsis:
The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.
