A new featurette with Terminator creator and writer/director of the first two movies, James Cameron, where he talks about the upcoming Terminator: Genisys has just been released.

In it, Cameron genuinely amps up our excitement for this movie… and he says it’s the true third Terminator movie.

That’s good enough for us. Oh, and there’s some cool new footage in here too… “wash day tomorrow, nothing clean, right?”

Here’s what our man James thought when he saw it:

Whoever came up with this idea at Paramount deserves a medal. This is one of the best decisions that could have been made in marketing this new Terminator film.

For those of you who are unaware, or have simply not read the title of the article, Paramount got James Cameron and sat him down to watch the new Terminator film. They then sat him down for an interview and recorded his reactions. To say that Cameron lavished the film with praise, would be an understatement. Cameron went out of his way, to say that the film was “a renaissance” of the franchise. This is very high praise, coming from the creator of the franchise, who had no involvement in the production of this film.

Let’s be honest, the marketing campaign for Terminator: Genisys has been hit or miss. The trailers all showed very impressive action, but also gave away a massive plot twist to the film. Getting James Cameron in to give it a seal of approval will do a lot to win back discouraged fans, and win them back to the franchise.

Forget the trailers or TV spots, stick this on every cinema and TV screen you can find, and Terminator: Genisys will do just fine… Though seriously, spell Genesis right!

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
