Every week FTN will be hosting videos looking back at classic films from the 80s and early 90s…
The videos will be a retrospective look back at a particular film covering all sides of the production and discussing how the film turned out. Many people on the net generally like to discuss films with a negative attitude and take joy in bashing films for comedic effect which does work but often many of the reviews aren’t researched well or films are taken out of context for the purpose of making a joke and I feel websites such as youtube have become over-saturated with these types of videos, I wanted to do something different.

Back to the Future Part III
In 1988 Robert Zemeckis decided to shoot Back to The Future part II and III back-to-back. Anticipation was huge because the first movie was incredibly popular. Back to the future part II hit the big screen in 1989 and was met with mixed reviews but was hugely popular then, six months later, Part III arrived. Set in 1885, Marty goes back in time to the old west to rescue Doc Brown after finding out the Doc will be killed by Buford Tannen.
Part III, for me, was the weakest of the sequels when I was a kid, probably down to not being a huge fan of Western films. Part II seemed more exciting to me because of the elements of the future but over time I found Part II to be a little boring in places and because it’s the second act of a three part story there is no satisfying ending. Part III’s story is aimed at Doc Brown and mirrors the plot outline of Part I.
In all great trilogies there is always parts you can nit-pick to death and minor plot points that don’t work and the Back to The Future series has some issues but it’s still up there as one of the best, each film is consistent with its production values and quality of writing and of course direction.
