There are many, many movies that withstand the test of time and, no matter how much someone tries to tinker, will always stand alone.

One such movie is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. A movie the will rock you to the core. Not, as is often the case today, with gratuitous gore or violence, but with an unrelenting sense of terror, claustrophobia and helplessness.

It stands to this day as one of the greatest horror movies ever made. A movie which, ironically, apes and is the perfect antidode to the modern horror – sexy teens running around in music video camera angles, looking terrified but never less than, well, sexy. It was raw, brutal and unforgiving.

Needless to say, it suffered at the hands of marketing, with awful sequels and an interesting, but ultimately fruitless, reboot.

Well, in a bizarre move, it’s getting a sequel. Yes, Texas Chainsaw 3D is ignoring the sequels and reboots and is going right back to the start. Only, it’s not. It’s sexy teens running in lovely framed scenes from what will obviously be inevitable gory deaths. Oh, what would Tobe Hooper say…?
