Would Disney, Fox and Sony team up to share the Marvel Movie Universe?

March 12th, 2013 by Irwin Fletcher 1 Comment

A whole bunch of Avengers 2 rumors have come to light to suggest that Disney, Fox Studios and Sony might be teaming up for a mutual benefit. This has been a rumor for a while, but according to the website Big Shiny Robot, this goes further. I must add that other then them having a cool name , I don’t know anything about Big Shiny Robot. Regardless let’s dive right in.

It’s mentioned that Agent Phil Coulson might be appearing as either Vision or perhaps Deathlok in the Avengers sequel. How that fits is uncertain as we know Coulson will be coming back in the S.H.I.E.L.D television series this Fall. If true, Vision is more likely than Deathlok, in my opinion anyway.

Spider-Man, who I’m most excited about, is also said to be a part of the mix, which isn’t that far fetched when you consider that Sony and Disney do have a mutual deal regarding the film and merchandising rights. Andrew Garfield has previously stated he would be open to the team up (why wouldn’t he?), and there was also the mention of the Oscorp Building appearing in The Avengers movie.

The Fantastic Four, Wolverine and Storm are also said to be a part of The Avengers 2, but only in cameo roles.

Could this all possibly be true? All the Marvel movie studios teaming up to help promote each other’s films? If they can set differences aside it should be a major score for all parties involved. Will this be an epic battle against Thanos? I certainly hope so.

This would seem to go against Director Joss Whedon’s previous mission statement of ” deeper not bigger.” So let’s not get too excited…yet.
