Get ready for the new daily show

LISTEN: It’s episode 61 of our podcast: “Don’t touch Lola.”

May 22nd, 2013 by Marc Comments

On this week’s show Marc is joined by Saxon…

First off we get chatty about the Agents of SHIELD trailer and how J August Richards is not Luke Cage, we chat about how Hawkeye might not be back for anymore Avengers movies but could be on the SHIELD series.

We get a little excited, well Marc does, about the new Riddick trailer and we do get geeky about all the usual movies, comics and good stuff.

Our first big interview of the week is with Mairtin DeBarra, the director of new movie BeatGirl which is a multi-platform release and tells the story of a girl who realises here life is in music.

Our second interview is with Karen Bryson who has done a lot of TV work – but not the movie Staying Alive it seems – but who is currently making ripples in the last series of Shameless on Channel 4 in the UK.

This leads us into chatting about how much of an institution Shameless has become in the UK.

We also chat to Stuart from the Monday Movie Show who goes through the UK Box Office Top Ten plus the latest movie news, then we chat to the Bald Gamer Dude himself, Alan, who has some great new gaming news… oh and we play Trollolollo man. Which is always cool.

We talk about all the latest toy releases that will be exclusives at SDCC 2013 – curse you SDCC!!!!

And, of course, before the end of the show we just keep getting giddy about the week’s news headlines, rumours and tidbits.

It’s fun to be a nerd. Oh and we talk about the final episode of Doctor Who and our conspiracy theory of the week revolves around the ‘leaked’ series 7 blu-rays in the US…

Until next week, just remember you Nerd it here first!

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
