Netflix/ABC/Disney/Marvel’s Daredevil series has been landing plaudits from fans and critics alike. But could there be problems ahead for Nelson & Murdock, Attourneys-at-Law?

Some doubts over a second series have arisen due to Marvel’s Netflix line-up of other street-level heroes, who will eventually become The Defenders being considered too crowded. Doubts that fortunately may be put to rest after even more hacked Sony emails have appeared on Wikileaks this month.

An email stream between Amy Pascal, executive at Sony, and showrunner Drew Goddard, was released that took place before the announcement that Goddard would be leaving Daredevil to work on Sinister Six at Sony.

The gist of the emails is that Goddard had already written the story outline for season two and money was already being diverted into the next series: “It does sound however like Drew is insisting not just for $250K in connection with the initial season of the show, but also payments for the second and potentially subsequent seasons as well… And I can’t get a straight answer from anyone on either side… Drew a position is that he could always have written the pilot only… And infact he has now written several shows and outlined the second season and they have brought in a replacement as a show runner who is a friend if his.” [sic]

Whether season 2 will come to Netflix before or after The Defenders is anyone’s guess at this stage, but the odds are good that there’s going to be more Matt Murdock adventures to come.

Now, if only we can get Marvel and Fox talking about a Deadpool series.

The death ray is currently in the works and one day you shall all bow to him, his giant space station and fleet of funky orange space shuttles...
