Doctor Who round-up – is there any truth to the movie rumours? The Moff speaks out

August 2nd, 2012 by Marc Comments

Well the new series of Doctor is only weeks away and the news keeps coming, including news on the movie that’s talked about so much…

Matt Smith has nothing but good things to say about Ben Browder since he guest starred in an upcoming episode of Doctor Who entitled a Town Called Mercy.
Browder ,who starred in Farscape as Crichton and Jack O’Neill’s replacement Mitchell in Stargate, plays a cowboy in the cyborg cowboy episode.
Matt said Ben brought a reality to being a cowboy as his accent gives it an authenticity that someone trying to do an American accent cannot.
Rumours are also circulating that the biggest Weeping Angel of all is about to be unveiled and she is one of the world’s best known tourist attractions. Given she helped the Ghostbusters beat Vigo in their second movie with her Liberty Torch, can you guess who it is? If true that is one Godzilla angel if I ever saw one.

In other news, Steven Moffat has said that there were no plans for a Doctor Who movie, despite  Harry Potter director David Yates saying he was working on a reboot of the show.
Moffat said any film would have to be signed off on by him as he is the voice of Doctor Who at the moment but added he would love to see a movie at some point.

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
