Michael Bay + hi-concept sci-fi idea = TV gold?

TNT has green lit the tv pilot The Last Ship, an action drama from Michael Bay and is based on the popular novel by William Brinkley.
The pilot’s story revolves around a US Naval destroyer that finds itself all alone after a global incident causes catastrophic devestation and the inhabitants of the ship realise they are the only surviviors left on Earth.
Though it is not guaranteed that the pilot will go to a full series, this is still very interesting news particularly due to the popularity and critical acclaim of the source novel. Watch this space for more info in the coming weeks…
