In their latest move to corner the home entartainment market, Netflix has strarted streaming seminal 90s epic The X-Files, lovingly remastered into 1080p.

A 1990s TV phenomenon, The X-Files featured David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, FBI Special Agents assigned to investigate mysterious cases deemed too oddball for regular channels. The first few seasons dealt with investigations into mutants, vampire cults, cloning and ghosts, against an ongoing background plot arc of alien encounters and a shadowy international organisation covering up the visitor’s agenda.

With the announcement that Chris Carter will be bringing the series back, this is the perfect excuse many will need to get back ino what was a brilliant piece of TV drama. For the first few seasons, anyway.

Netflix already have the first 13 episodes of season 1 remastered and available. You know you want to.

The death ray is currently in the works and one day you shall all bow to him, his giant space station and fleet of funky orange space shuttles...
