Remember the rumours a couple of weeks ago that the next season of Doctor Who wouldn’t be a full series (here)?
Well, we’re hearing on the grapevine that this is the case and that what we might see is a few feature length specials, similar to what we had at the end of David Tennant’s run on the show.
Apparently Steven Moffat is busy trying to get Sherlock back onscreen and there’s rumours that his run may come to an end next year show running the series.
And, remember the Tennant run of feature-length episodes was the lead in to his regeneration into Matt Smith?
Well, in an interview with The Mirror, current Doctor, Peter Capaldi, talked about his time on the show and used an interesting few words about it: “I sort of enjoy this position I am in with a kind of deep Scottish melancholy because I know it has to end one day. I will cross that bridge when we come to it, which may be sooner rather than later.”
Sooner rather than later?! Is this adding weight to what we’re hearing about next year? We can only speculate at this point but with Capaldi returning in exactly four weeks for his third year in the TARDIS, we aren’t ready to think about him leaving yet… heck, some of us have only just started to accept him in the role.
Sooner rather than later, indeed…
