Get ready for the new daily show

Trailer and clips from Star Wars: Detours leave us tickled and horrified…

Well, we knew it was coming for a while now, but the people at Lucasfilm used Celebration to officially launch Star Wars Detours…

And, despite the fact that it is essentially a new Star Wars animated series that should have me especially jumping around in celebration, I feel a little shell-shocked by it.
Truthfully, I hoped the ‘comedy series’ rumours were wrong and that the show would be SW canon, but it seems the rumors were true and Detours is a more child-friendly version of Star Wars Robot Chicken, done weekly.
What do we know? Well, we know Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams and Ahmed Best will play C3P0, Lando & JarJar respectively and that FTN favourite Catherine Taber will play Leia and all her handmaidens. We’ll bring you more news as we get it…

And I guess that’s ok it’s just that – and I can’t believe I’m saying this – it just doesn’t feel like MY Star Wars. But it does kinda look fun… Anyway, here’s the full trailer for the series and a few extended clips.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
