WATCH: FTN in shock as a Major Family Guy character gets brutally killed off

November 25th, 2013 by Marc 1 Comment

Well, we know it’s only a cartoon, but dammit! We love these guys!

In last night’s Family Guy, aired stateside, a major character died and is believed to now be written out of the show.

SPOILER

Yes, Brian the dog was killed in a gut-wrenching scene which involved him being brutally run over by a car… yeah, we know it’s only a cartoon but after eleven years we kinda grew with these guys, it would be like killing Bart Simpson in a motorcycle accident. Or Something.

And, to make matters worse, Brian has now been replaced by Vinnie the dog (bottom of the page). We know that Seth McFarlane has been quoted as saying he thinks the show is in danger of becoming stale: ‘Part of me thinks that Family Guy should have already ended. I think seven seasons is about the right lifespan for a TV series,’ he told The Hollywood Reporter.

And with Executive producer Steve Callaghan describing Brian’s death as ‘a fun way to shake things up,’ we fear that McFarlane may be right… is this the end of Family Guy? Only time will tell, but meantime, goodbye Brian, we’ve have some good laughs, boy, from us all at FTN.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
