Get ready for the new daily show

Whedon talks about new SHIELD series

June 4th, 2013 by Marc Comments

Joss Whedon is getting a little chatty about the upcoming – oh my god, oh my god, oh my god – Agents of SHIELD series and where it will fit in with the Marvel movie universe…

According to Comic Book Movie, Whedon said that: “It’s very important to me that the show stands on its own. The people that never saw any of the movies can tune in and enjoy it. We like being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we like having all of the mythos to play off of, but if the show was ‘You just missed Tony Stark. Wow, he was JUST here’ that would be the most unsatisfying show ever. We have an ensemble, a new ensemble — apart from Clark [Gregg as Agent Coulson], it’s all people I’ve never worked with before but I’m really excited about them, I’m really proud of them. I think people will want to see them every week.”

Of course the big question is will we find out how Agent Phil Coulson, who died in Avengers, is back and that it will be handled with respect in the show, “that’s not something you take lightly” he said.

So there you have it… who’s excited? Yeah you are…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
