It looks like Warner’s has other plans in mind for mainstreaming the whole Justice League in anticipation of a forthcoming movie. While Disney and Marvel introduced the Avengers through solo movies of the characters, DC and Warner’s are using video game and TV shows to bring together their super hero team.
We have the Arrow show coming to CW networks, the whole gang appearing in Lego Batman 2 and now they will come together again in a sequel to last year’s awesome game Batman: Arkham City. According to Variety some of the Justice League characters will make an appearance, though it is unknown if they will be playable characters or simply making cameos.
The game is under development and is being planned as a prequel of sorts with a storyline that will follow Batman’s first encounter with the Clown Prince of Crime; The Joker. The game will probably not drop until 2014, but that doesn’t keep me from getting anxious to get my hands on this one.
One can only hope that Kevin Conroy, the man who voiced Batman/Bruce Wayne in the 90’s animated series and the two previous Arkham games, makes a return for this game. Sadly Mark Hamill, who has voiced the Joker in the animated series and previous games also(and was one of the best characters in all of sci-fidom in the 70’s and 80’s) has already stated he would not return for a third game. Sound off on your thoughts about a Justice League appearance in Arkham below.
